Space flight is gaining new interest in the United States of America.

United States President Barack Obama wrote an op-ed that encouraged the American government as well as the private sector to renew their commitmentand interest in space exploration. This comes in the wake of President Obama preaching participation between the United States of America National Aeronautics and Space Administration and private businesses such as SpaceX, Boeing, and Blue Origin to reach Mars.

According to a PEW Research Center poll, 68 percent of Americans hold a favorable opinion of NASA. The national space agency was ranked the best agency in the U.S. federal government to be an employee. Americans and international observers alike are awed by the space exploration achievements accomplished by the United States of America.

Space flight has even breached the 2016 Presidential Race. Amidst complaints that neither Hillary Clinton nor Donald Trump has offered a comprehensive space policy,Scientific American probedboth candidates on their knowledge of space exploration. In theScientific American interview, Clinton graded two out of a total five on space savvy. Trump scored a two out of five.

Many are calling for the United States to reassert their dominance in the galaxy.

"I offer a bold and simple space policy statement.... We must:restore America's leadership in manned spaceflight, wisely increase our space and science spending, support America's emerging commercial space firm, build an all American space supply chain, improve our critical space infrastructure, [and] establish a profitable space economy,"wrote Forbes contributor, Greg Autry.
