Doctor killed by patient in Louisiana
Residents are a bit surprised by the situation as many say they have not experienced a shooting let alone a murder in over ten years in the parish.

In a rare and bizarre incident in Louisiana, a man shot and killed his doctor before putting the gun in his mouth and killing himself. The Sheriff identified the shooter as John P. Thomas a 73-year-old patient to Dr. Elbert Goodier. The police also say that John P. Thomas did not have a criminal past and was always a productive member of society. However, his family revealed a less known fact about him, that he has multiple mental breakdowns in the past.
"Dr. Goodier was a very nice guy," said the sheriff."If you called him late at night, he was always prepared to help assist and take care of his patients." The doctor had worked for 50 years in the parish and was respected highly.
Reports say that the patient, Thomas walked into the physician's office and found him with a patient. Without hesitation, he pulled out a gun and shot him before flying the scene. He ran to a nearby Wendys to take cover. He suddenly panicked when he saw a deputy and put the gun in his mouth and killed himself.

Dr. Goodier was a certified urologist from the LSU School of Medicine. He had practiced for over 50 yearsandhas a wife and three children who he left behind after his death.
